Sypil

(1863-1934) Zabel Asatour, Armenian poetess and novelist, native of Skutari, near Constantinople. One of the most highly educated women of her time; she founded The Patriotic Association of Armenian Women, in 1879. A dedicated teacher and public servant, she created the Armenian language and literature manuals that were widely used in the schools of the Western Armenia.
